CHRISTMAS CAROL 1934

By Martin Armstrong

Bright angels near two thousand years ago
Sang peace on earth, good will to men below.
In these late years, if angels still there be,
They sing no songs, but rather weep to see
Peace with a broken wing and feet that bleed
And little of good will, and less of deed,
Where nation, watching nation, starves its sons
To swell its fleets and mould its monstrous guns.
