I. UPRIGHT AND OCCASIONAL CHAIRS
With this issue we start a new series in which we shall illustrate each month fourteen examples of one item of furniture, with particulars of designers, prices, etc. Variety of price is taken into consideration as much as variety of design and it is hoped that the series, when it is complete, will be a useful guide for all purses to the complete equipment of the home. In the next issue Easy Chairs will be dealt with.
—Unpolished bentwood chair from Green & Abbott, price 25s., seat cushion extra, suitable for use at a writing desk, in a bedroom, a dining room or kitchen
—Desk or dining chair in chromium plated steel by Pel. Price £2 5s. 0d. in calico, £2 8s. 0d. in rexine and £2 17s. 0d. in hide
—Chromium plated desk or arm chair by Pel. Price £3 15s. Od. in calico, £4 13s. 0d. in rexine and £5 5s. Od. in hide
—A Finnish bentwood armchair with a cellulosed seat and back. It can be bought at Bowmans, Camden Town, price £2 17s. 6d.
—The “Welbeck” dining chair, designed by Gordon Russell. Price in mahogany and lining £3 17s. 6d.
—Occasional chair in sycamore with upholstered seat and loose cushion covered in velour. Designed by Green & Abbott, Wigmore Street, price £8 15s. 0d.

—Occasional chair covered in black and white check fabric and fitted with Parker-Knoll patent springing. Price £3 17s. 6d. It is obtainable from Bowmans of Camden Town
—Dining or bridge chair in
birch designed by Jack Killick, Knightsbridge. Seat and back are upholstered in a guard’s red material from Donald Bros. Price £1 15s. 0d. This chair is also
made with arms, price £1 19s. 6d.
9. —Dining or desk chair by Fortnum & Mason, Piccadilly, in sycamore. The upholstery is in a nigger and cream woollen material. Price £8 10s. 0d.
10. —Finnish dining chair in wood, from Bowmans, Camden Town. Cellulosed black or cream, it costs 17s. 6d.
11. —Occasional chair fitted with Parker-Knoll springing from Jack Killick, Cheval Place, Knightsbridge. Covered in dull blue satin, it costs £3 3s. 0d.
12. —Occasional or desk chair by Gordon Russell, in sycamore and natural cowhide. Price £6 6s. 0d.
13. —Oak dining chair from Bowmans, Camden Town. Back and seat are upholstered in coarse oatmeal-coloured crash. Price £1 19s. 6d.
14. —Occasional chair in plywood, designed by Gerald Summers for the Makers of Simple Furniture, Charlotte Street. It has a padded seat and can be finished in polish in any colour. Price £2 17s. 6d.
