Cartoonists - International

• ASIFA - Hollywood Animation Archive Cartoon Hall of Fame biographical information on several hundred animators, illustrators, cartoonists and comic artists. Like Wikipedia and AskArt, the data can be submitted by anyone. The entries, therefore, vary in length and quality. The site contains a wealth of information about the history of animation and related fields including articles, archive material, and interviews.

• International Who’s Who of Cartooning

Compiled by Witty World International Cartoon Center. Includes thousands of profiles.

• Lambiek Comiclopedia

Contains biographical information on some 10,000 comic artists [many of whom were cartoonists], with examples of their work. The database is compiled by Kees Kousemaker, founder of Lambiek, who in 1968 founded Lambiek, a comics shop on Kerkstraat in Amsterdam.

• St-Just-Le-Martel

Contains biographies of more than 1,300 artists who have exhibited at the exhibited at the festival of cartoon and caricature held annually in St-Just-Le-Martel, France. Artists can be searched by name and country. [Text in English and French]. The original page no longer exists, although the link was archived on the Wayback web archive which we've linked to above.
